We are pleased to announce a free introductory psychodrama day on Saturday, June 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Mouvement Intérieur, 225 Notre-Dame West, 3rd floor.

Together, we will explore the techniques and basic concepts of the psychodramatic approach.

Psychodrama was first developed as a form of group therapy by Jacob Lévy Moreno (1889–1974). According to Moreno, acting out life situations through play allows for the search for personal truth and the transformation of learned roles into spontaneity and creativity. Today, psychodrama is used in many fields of practice, including assessment, supervision, education, and more.

During this gathering, we will also present an upcoming training opportunity intended especially for practitioners of social theatre — or other forms of arts-based intervention — who wish to better understand how role-playing can serve as a relevant and powerful intervention tool.

Trainers

Olivier Lacroix is a psychodramatist and psychodrama trainer. He works as a psychologist and youth protection consultant, where he has been practicing psychodrama with adolescents since 2017. He also shares this practice in various settings, including intervention theatre, university courses, and supervision.

Élisabeth Couture (Ph.D., Université Laval) graduated from the International Center for Expressive Psychotherapy as a practitioner, educator, and trainer in psychodrama (PEF/TEP). She is the founder of the École de théâtre playback du Québec and an accredited trainer with the Playback Theatre Center. A lecturer in the Social Theatre Program at Concordia University for 25 years, she has worked as a playback theatre conductor since 2006.
